Coaches supervisors on recognition of safety hazards and employee interaction to eliminate safety exposures.
Responds to on-site emergencies and accidents.
Recommends ways to improve health and safety in the facility.
Stays up to date on state and federal workplace safety regulations.
Provide Safety support to site management and supervisors for the management of plant safety Conducts audits, identifies health and safety hazards, and develops corrective actions Coach and assist supervisors and managers on incident investigations.
Creates and presents reports detailing health and safety issues to management team.
Fields inquiries from employees about proper safety procedures.
Investigates on-the-job accidents and writes up reports.
Identifies hazards or faults that caused the accident and devises strategic plan to remedy those problems.
Assist site leadership in their communications with MSHA and OHSA.
Monitors workplace on a daily basis to ensure all activity meets safety compliance.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational or Industrial Safety or related Demonstrated knowledge of OHSA guidelines.
Performs Safety Audits and trains and monitors Lockout-Tagout Experience working with/ negotiating with governmental agencies.
Delivers Safety Training Demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills and attention to detail, Skilled using computers to include, MS Office and database management.
Communicates details of safety procedures clearly to employees.
Exhibits ability to think practically and creatively to implement the best safety practices.
Responds quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.
Exercises caution and alertness at all times.
Advanced Education is a plus! Professional Certifications/Trainings are a plus! e.
Certificate in Safety Management (CSM) Recommended Skills Analytical Attention To Detail Auditing Coaching And Mentoring Communication Databases Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
